Why Coventry exhibitors work with a Midlands stand builder

We are based in Tamworth, Staffordshire, around 20 minutes from the NEC Birmingham and a short run down to Coventry. That matters more than it sounds.

A local builder means your stand is made by people you can visit. It means a van, not a logistics gamble. It means that if a panel needs recutting or a graphic needs reprinting the day before a show, there is a permanent in-house team of carpenters, electricians and fabricators who can do it.

What being nearby gives you:

  • Short, cheap transport legs to Coventry Building Society Arena and the NEC
  • The option to see your stand built in our workshop before it leaves
  • Installation and breakdown handled by the same people who made it
  • Quick response when a venue, organiser or your own brand team changes something late

We have been designing and building bespoke exhibition stands since 2001. More than 75 per cent of our work comes from existing clients, which is the number we are proudest of.

02

Venues we work at in and around Coventry

We regularly build at Coventry Building Society Arena, and across the wider region at the NEC Birmingham, the ICC and Resorts World Arena in Birmingham.

Further afield we build at ExCeL London, Olympia London, Harrogate and international shows.

The NEC is our home venue. We know the halls, the access routes, the build-up rhythm and the paperwork. Coventry Building Society Arena is on the same doorstep, so your stand travels a short distance in one piece rather than being shipped across the country in sections.

If you are a Coventry or Warwickshire business exhibiting anywhere in the UK, we can build here and take it to you.

We build custom stands only, from 20 to 100 square metres

T2 build custom stands: designed and made from scratch for one brand and one space, with no system limits on height, shape or material.

We work on spaces from 20 square metres up to 100 square metres. That covers most island, peninsula and corner spaces at Coventry Building Society Arena and the NEC.

We do not sell modular or hybrid stands as a product line. We have explored modular systems many times over the years and invested in the kit. Clients consistently came back asking for more personalisation, greater height and shape, and a more dynamic presence. So we build custom. Where a system component such as a light box is genuinely the right answer inside a custom build, we use it.

04

Modular, hybrid and custom: the three UK stand categories explained

These three words get used interchangeably in the UK exhibition trade. They are not the same thing.

Modular is off-the-shelf systems: pole and panel, pop-ups, aluminium frames with infill panels. Pre-manufactured to standard sizes, usually at a standard height of about 2.5m. It can often be self-built. It suits an exhibitor doing five or more shows a year on a modest budget.

Hybrid is a mixture of modular and custom build, usually system light boxes combined with purpose-built elements. It is much less common now than it used to be.

Custom build is designed and made from scratch for one brand and one space. No system constraints. Full control of height, shape, materials, lighting and storage.

If modular is genuinely right for your show programme, we will say so. We would rather be honest early than sell you the wrong thing.

05

What a custom stand actually costs

We quote openly, by element, so you can see where the money goes. A typical mid-range custom build totals 16,000 to 44,000 GBP.

  • Fabrication and build: typically around half of any contract value. From 4,000 GBP at the small end, 8,000 to 20,000 GBP mid-range, up to 50,000 to 60,000 GBP on large contracts.
  • Graphics and print: typically 3,000 to 8,000 GBP mid-range. Graphics-led builds can run 12,000 to 18,000 GBP.
  • Electrics and lighting: typically 1,200 to 5,000 GBP, up to 6,000 GBP on larger builds.
  • Transport and logistics: typically 600 to 2,000 GBP.
  • Installation: typically 2,000 to 5,000 GBP depending on contract size.
  • Breakdown: typically 1,500 to 4,000 GBP. De-rigging takes nearly as much labour as build-up, so it is never free.
  • Storage: quoted separately.

Design and 3D visuals are free of charge for qualifying enquiries. You see what you are buying before you commit to it.

06

Timings: when to appoint your stand builder

Design approval and the CDM declaration can take up to six weeks. Venues and organisers will not be rushed on this.

So the working rule is simple: appoint your stand builder at least two months before the show. Finished artwork is needed four weeks before.

That gives time for design, 3D visuals, your internal sign-off, the organiser's approval, fabrication, print and a proper build-up. If your Coventry or NEC show is sooner than that, still get in touch. Being local means we can sometimes move faster than the calendar suggests, and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

07

Full service, in-house, from first sketch to storage

We handle the whole job: design, 3D visuals, build, graphics, transport, installation, breakdown and storage. One team, one point of contact, one invoice.

We are an ESSA member, so we work to the standards the UK events industry expects on site.

Clients include Soudal, Pinarello, Dentally, Journeo, Software of Excellence and Horiba Mira. We have designed and built Lely's key UK event stand at the NEC for six consecutive years, and built the BSA Guns stand in Hall 6 at The Great British Shooting Show, NEC Birmingham.

If you are exhibiting in Coventry or anywhere else in the UK, tell us the space, the show and roughly what you want to achieve. We will come back with ideas and a clear quote.

Common questions

Your questions, answered.

Do you build at Coventry Building Society Arena?
Yes. Coventry Building Society Arena is one of the venues we regularly work at, alongside the NEC Birmingham, the ICC and Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, ExCeL London, Olympia London and Harrogate.
Where is your workshop?
Tamworth, Staffordshire. We are about 20 minutes from the NEC Birmingham and a short drive from Coventry, so transport legs are short and you are welcome to see your stand before it leaves.
How much does a custom exhibition stand cost?
A typical mid-range custom build totals 16,000 to 44,000 GBP. Fabrication and build is usually around half the contract value, with graphics, electrics, transport, installation and breakdown making up the rest. Design and 3D visuals are free of charge for qualifying enquiries.
What stand sizes do you work with?
We build custom stands only, for spaces from 20 square metres up to 100 square metres.
Do you supply modular or hybrid stands?
No. We do not sell modular or hybrid stands as a product line. Modular is off-the-shelf system kit at a standard height of about 2.5m, and hybrid mixes system elements with custom build. We design and build custom stands from scratch, though we will use a system component such as a light box inside a custom build where it is the right answer.
How far in advance should I book?
Ideally at least two months before the show. Design approval and the CDM declaration can take up to six weeks, and finished artwork is needed four weeks before the show.
