What our installation and dismantling service covers

We handle the whole on-site job, from the moment the stand leaves our workshop to the moment the hall floor is clear.

  • Transport and logistics from our Tamworth base to the venue, timed to your hall access slot.
  • Build-up and installation: assembly of the custom structure, flooring, walls, counters, storerooms and furniture.
  • Electrics and lighting: first fix and final test by our own electricians, from lightboxes to display lighting.
  • Graphics fitting: panels, vinyls and lightbox prints hung straight and clean, checked before you arrive.
  • Snagging and handover: we walk the stand with you before the show opens.
  • Breakdown and de-rig after the final day, with everything removed from the hall on schedule.
  • Storage of reusable parts between shows, quoted separately.

We only do this for custom stands, for spaces from 20 square metres up to 100 square metres.

02

Your crew is our crew, not an agency

The people who install your stand are the people who made it. We keep a permanent in-house team of carpenters, electricians and fabricators. They cut the timber, wire the lighting and fit the graphics in Tamworth, then travel to the hall and put it up.

That matters on site. When a wall needs easing, a socket needs moving or a client wants a counter shifted two feet, the person standing in front of you knows how the stand was made and can change it properly.

We are an ESSA member, so we work to the standards exhibitors and venue organisers expect on health and safety, risk assessments and method statements.

More than 75% of our work comes from existing clients. Repeat business is the honest measure of whether a contractor turns up and gets it right.

How a build-up and de-rig actually runs

Before the show. We submit the stand design to the organiser for approval and complete the CDM declaration. Risk assessments, method statements and any structural paperwork go in with it. We book your hall access, vehicle passes and on-site services.

Build-up days. Our team arrives for the slot allocated by the organiser. Floor goes down, structure goes up, electrics are run and tested, graphics are fitted last so they stay clean. Most stands in our size range are built and dressed well inside the standard build-up period.

Handover. We walk the stand with you, check every light, clean the surfaces and hand you the storeroom key. If something is not right, we fix it before we leave.

Show days. You exhibit. We can stay reachable throughout.

Breakdown. We return as soon as the hall opens for de-rig. The stand comes apart in the right order, reusable elements are wrapped and crated, and the space is handed back empty. De-rigging takes nearly as much labour as build-up, so it is never an afterthought in our planning or our quotes.

What installation and dismantling costs

We quote openly, so you can see where the money goes.

  • Installation: typically 2,000 to 5,000 GBP, depending on contract size.
  • Breakdown and de-rig: typically 1,500 to 4,000 GBP.
  • Transport and logistics: typically 600 to 2,000 GBP.
  • Electrics and lighting: typically 1,200 to 5,000 GBP, up to 6,000 GBP on larger builds.
  • Storage: quoted separately, based on what is worth keeping.

For context on the whole job: fabrication and build is usually around half of any contract value, from 4,000 GBP at the small end, 8,000 to 20,000 GBP mid-range, up to 50,000 to 60,000 GBP on large contracts. Graphics and print run 3,000 to 8,000 GBP mid-range, and 12,000 to 18,000 GBP on graphics-led builds. A typical mid-range custom build totals 16,000 to 44,000 GBP.

Venues we work in regularly

The NEC Birmingham is our home venue, about 20 minutes from the workshop. That closeness is practical, not marketing. A short run means tighter scheduling, easier re-supply during build-up and a quicker response if a client changes their mind on site.

We also install and de-rig regularly at:

  • The ICC Birmingham and Resorts World Arena
  • Coventry Building Society Arena
  • ExCeL London
  • Olympia London
  • Harrogate Convention Centre
  • International shows, where transport and logistics are planned to suit

We have designed and built Lely's key UK event stand at the NEC for six consecutive years, and built the BSA Guns stand in Hall 6 at The Great British Shooting Show, NEC Birmingham. Clients include Soudal, Pinarello, Dentally, Journeo, Software of Excellence and Horiba Mira.

Timings: when to appoint your contractor

Installation is the easy part if the paperwork is done. It is the paperwork that catches exhibitors out.

Design approval and the CDM declaration can take up to six weeks. So a stand builder should ideally be appointed at least two months before the show. Finished artwork is needed four weeks before, so graphics can be printed, checked and fitted without a panic.

If your show is closer than that, talk to us anyway. We would rather tell you honestly what is possible than let a deadline quietly slip.

07

Who this service suits, and who it does not

It suits you if you are exhibiting on a space between 20 and 100 square metres, you want a custom stand designed and made from scratch for one brand and one space, and you want one contractor accountable for design, build, graphics, transport, installation and breakdown.

It is not for you if you want an off-the-shelf modular system. Modular stands are pre-manufactured pole and panel, pop-ups or aluminium frames with infill panels, made to standard sizes at a standard height of about 2.5 metres, and they can be self-built. They suit exhibitors doing five or more shows a year on a modest budget. Hybrid stands mix modular elements, usually system lightboxes, with purpose-built sections, and are much less common now.

We build custom stands only. We explored modular systems many times over the years and invested in the kit, but clients consistently asked for more personalisation, greater height and shape, and a more dynamic presence. We still use system components such as lightboxes inside a custom build where they are the right answer.

Common questions

Your questions, answered.

Do you install stands you did not design or build?
Our installation and dismantling service is part of our full custom stand service: design, 3D visuals, build, graphics, transport, installation, breakdown and storage. If you have an existing stand and a specific on-site need, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.
How much does exhibition stand installation and dismantling cost?
Installation is typically 2,000 to 5,000 GBP depending on contract size, and breakdown is typically 1,500 to 4,000 GBP. De-rigging takes nearly as much labour as build-up, so it is priced properly rather than hidden. Transport and logistics usually runs 600 to 2,000 GBP, and storage is quoted separately.
How far in advance should I book?
At least two months before the show. Design approval and the CDM declaration can take up to six weeks, and finished artwork is needed four weeks before the show so graphics can be printed and fitted calmly.
Who is on site during build-up?
Our own permanent in-house team of carpenters, electricians and fabricators. They are the people who made your stand in Tamworth, so they know how it goes together and can adapt it on the spot.
Which venues do you cover?
The NEC Birmingham is our home venue, about 20 minutes from the workshop. We also work regularly at the ICC and Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, Coventry Building Society Arena, ExCeL London, Olympia London and Harrogate, plus international shows.
Can you store our stand between shows?
Yes. We store reusable elements of custom builds and quote storage separately, based on what is genuinely worth keeping for the next show.
