Vehicle Electrification Expo runs on 16 and 17 June 2027 at the NEC Birmingham, alongside Battery Cells and Systems Expo.
Work backwards from those dates and the calendar gets tight fast.
- Design approval and the CDM declaration can take up to six weeks. That paperwork is not optional for a space only build.
- Appoint your stand builder at least two months before the show. For June 2027, that means having someone on board in April 2027 at the latest.
- Finished artwork is needed four weeks before the show, so around mid May 2027.
Earlier is better. If you are reading this with more than two months in hand, you have room for a proper design conversation, a look at how your hardware actually sits on the stand, and time to change your mind once before drawings are frozen. If you are inside that window, talk to us anyway and we will tell you honestly what is still possible.
Twenty minutes from the NEC, and what that actually buys you
Our workshop is in Tamworth, Staffordshire, about 20 minutes from the NEC Birmingham. The NEC is our home venue. In practical terms that proximity means:
- Site visits during design. We can get to the hall and back in a morning to check your space, access routes and neighbours.
- The build crew on site early. Short run in, no overnight travel, more hours of build time on day one.
- Problems fixed from the workshop, not from a hotel room. If a panel needs remaking or a bracket needs welding during build up, our carpenters, electricians and fabricators are a short drive away with the machines and the materials.
- Local storage between shows. Your stand comes back to Staffordshire, gets checked, and waits for the next event. Storage is quoted separately.
We also work regularly at the ICC and Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, Coventry Building Society Arena, ExCeL London, Olympia London and Harrogate, plus international shows. But the NEC is the venue we know best.

Built for heavy hardware and live demonstration
Exhibitors at an electrification show rarely turn up with a brochure rack. They turn up with weight, and with things that need to run.
Carrying the load. Battery packs, powertrain assemblies, inverters, e-axles and test rigs are heavy and awkwardly distributed. Our in-house carpenters and fabricators build plinths, frames and steel-reinforced platforms sized to the actual item, not to a standard system. We want the weight, the dimensions and the lifting points early, so the structure is engineered rather than hoped for.
Power and cables. Live demonstrations need a considered electrical design. Our in-house electricians plan supply positions, distribution, socket locations and cable routes so that nothing trails across a walkway and nothing is improvised on site. Cable management is designed into the floor, the plinth and the wall build, not taped down on the morning of open.
Reading as engineering, not marketing. Buyers on this floor are engineers. The stand should look like it was made by people who make things: honest materials, clean joints, considered lighting on the hardware, clear sight lines to the demonstration, and graphics that support the product rather than shout over it.

Custom build only, 20 to 100 square metres
We think it is fairer to be clear up front.
T2 build custom stands only. Designed and made from scratch for one brand and one space, with no system limits on height, shape or structure. We build for spaces from 20 square metres up to 100 square metres.
We do not sell modular stands as a product line. Modular means off-the-shelf systems, pole and panel, pop-ups, aluminium frames with infill panels, pre-manufactured to standard sizes at a standard height of around 2.5m. That format genuinely suits exhibitors doing five or more shows a year on a modest budget, and it can be self-built. If that is you, a modular supplier will serve you better than we will, and we would rather say so now.
We explored modular systems many times over the years and invested in the kit. Clients kept asking for more personalisation, greater height and shape, and a more dynamic presence. So custom is what we do. Where a system component such as a light box is the right answer inside a custom build, we use it.
What a stand of this kind costs
No two briefs cost the same, so here are the real ranges we work in. Fabrication and build is typically around half of any contract value.
- Fabrication and build: from 4,000 GBP at the small end, 8,000 to 20,000 GBP mid-range, up to 50,000 to 60,000 GBP on large contracts.
- Graphics and print: typically 3,000 to 8,000 GBP mid-range. Graphics-led builds can run 12,000 to 18,000 GBP.
- Electrics and lighting: typically 1,200 to 5,000 GBP, up to 6,000 GBP on larger builds.
- Transport and logistics: typically 600 to 2,000 GBP.
- Installation: typically 2,000 to 5,000 GBP depending on contract size.
- Breakdown: typically 1,500 to 4,000 GBP. De-rigging takes nearly as much labour as build up. Storage is quoted separately.
A typical mid-range custom build totals 16,000 to 44,000 GBP. Design and 3D visuals are free of charge for qualifying enquiries, so you can see the idea before you commit to the build.
